The birds there are obviously quite used to people and rely on them for scraps of food. I like the colouring of this bird. You can see a bit of the iridescent green and purple in its feathers.
Sat, 30 Oct 2010 21:11:04 +0000http://alainsaffel.myfotojournal.com/2010/oct/30/granville-island-wildlife/Nice eyeshttp://alainsaffel.myfotojournal.com/2010/oct/29/nice-eyes/

I think I heard somewhere once that kids and pets are the hardest things to take photos of. In my experience, I’d have to agree somewhat. I was lucky this time because the cat was posing in his favourite chair. I got some really nice shots of him too.
Fri, 29 Oct 2010 00:13:39 +0000http://alainsaffel.myfotojournal.com/2010/oct/29/nice-eyes/Reflecting on Saskatchewanhttp://alainsaffel.myfotojournal.com/2010/oct/25/reflecting-saskatchewan/

I love abandoned buildings and the Canadian prairies are full of them. They’re great photos subjects and are that much better with windows to reflect a beautiful scene.
Mon, 25 Oct 2010 15:22:00 +0000http://alainsaffel.myfotojournal.com/2010/oct/25/reflecting-saskatchewan/Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park - Edmontonhttp://alainsaffel.myfotojournal.com/2010/oct/18/lois-hole-centennial-provincial-park-edmonton/

I recently discovered one of Edmonton’s real gems and it is just on the edge of the city. It’s the Lois Hole Centennial Provincial Park. One day I was having a look at a map of Edmonton and noticed a large body of water in the northwest part of the city, appropriately named Big Lake. Odd, because I had never heard anyone talk about it. So, one day I decided to check it out. I’ve been there twice now and plan to continue going there. I’ve only begun to delve into the photo opportunities.
Mon, 18 Oct 2010 17:55:00 +0000http://alainsaffel.myfotojournal.com/2010/oct/18/lois-hole-centennial-provincial-park-edmonton/Sunrise near Caroline Albertahttp://alainsaffel.myfotojournal.com/2010/oct/15/sunrise-near-caroline-alberta/

A couple things I hadn’t anticipated when I moved to Alberta were the amazing sunrises and sunsets. I lived for a short while in Caroline, Alberta and I couldn’t believe the beautiful sunrises I saw there so often. I miss that.
Fri, 15 Oct 2010 21:40:00 +0000http://alainsaffel.myfotojournal.com/2010/oct/15/sunrise-near-caroline-alberta/
